Abstract

The aim of this article is to provide an overview about Special Educational Needs from a review of the current legislation. The special educational need is a category which includes all the possible educational difficulties. The integration of the students with these need can’t leave out from the sharing of the significant activities performed in the classes of membership. The approach which had been widely used for this purpose is the one of cooperative learning. The idea at the base of the method is that the group is a whole of resources, meant both as knowledge and both as skills. The focus will be on the process of students’ integration with special educational needs and the different approaches that foster cooperative learning to discuss how to get the most appropriate actions to improve learning for all students, putting in evidence the role of the teacher as mediator of this process. The purpose of our contribution is to propose operational strategies to promote the inclusion of the students with these needs.
