Food hunger, love hunger: An observational study of obese patients candidates for sleeve gastrectomy

Abstract


Obesity is a multifactorial disease that recognizes in its etiology co-presence of genetic, metabolic, hormonal, psychological and social factors influencing and supporting clinical setting . The important role played by psychological and social aspects in the field of bariatric surgery is widely recognized . The purpose of this observational study was to evaluate the presence of eating disorders in obese patients undergoing to longitudinal gastrectomy; also presence of low self-esteem and redundancy of dysfunctional interaction-family models.
