Pensare alla professione psicologica oggi

Laura Antonia Lucia Parolin

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly changed the perception of psychology as a profession in the eyes of society. In some ways, it is almost a rediscovery of the discipline itself, accompanied by a greater awareness that psychology not only deals with clinical intervention and emergencies but is also a valuable container of tools and resources at the service of society. Some of the emerging scenarios to which psychology as a profession ought to respond today include the need for community-based initiatives and services, as well as preventative actions and intervention in schools and organizations. In the face of a rediscovered social dimension of psychology as a profession, it is also essential to invest in psychological training, implementing paths that provide updated and valuable tools to meet the needs of societal changes and challenges.
